Being released

The money rails described here are built and tested, and are being rolled out. Until a rail is switched on for the exchange, invoices are paid by bank transfer or mobile money and recorded by Finance, as today.

Role: Desk.

Parties

Global Buyers → Parties → Register party: name (fixed once saved), roles (Farmer, Supplier, Off-taker, Buyer, Transporter, Financier, Border champion, Warehouse operator), country, identity number, phone, and for payments:

• Wallet address: a Celo 0x… address, for Celo escrow;
• Stellar account: a G… address, for payments on Stellar.

The phone is where M-Pesa or Airtel payments go. A party can be suspended.

Orders

Marketplace → Order (or Place order on a listing):

• Off the market list, or Direct with the buyer;
• quantity in tonnes, buyer, destination, the exchange's margin;
• for a direct order, optionally Pay the farmer now.

The quantity cannot exceed what is available on the lot.

Dispatch

Fleet → Dispatch order: a Pending or Confirmed order and a vehicle. The order becomes Shipped, and a gate pass is sent to the driver's phone. See Fleet and drivers.

Track & Trace

Each order's journey: stages, the trip, and the buttons Fund escrow and, once delivered, Settle (Finance).

Disputes

Disputes & Custody → File dispute: the order, the reason (quality, delivery delay, quantity, payment, documents), what happened, who filed it. If the order has funded escrow, Finance can hold it with Freeze under this dispute.

Invoices

The desk can raise, issue and collect on invoices with Finance. See Finance.
