Verifying a receipt or invoice

Every warehouse receipt and invoice the exchange issues has a public page and a verification code, so anyone holding a paper copy (a bank lending against a receipt, a buyer, an auditor) can check it is genuine and see where it stands today. No account is needed.

Open the document

Scan the QR code on the paper, or open the address printed on it:

  • a receipt: https://exchange.yeshara.network/receipts/WR-0012
  • an invoice: https://exchange.yeshara.network/invoices/INV-0042

Check the code

The paper carries a code of the form XXXX-XXXX. The QR code on the printed paper includes it; if you typed the address, add it:

https://exchange.yeshara.network/receipts/WR-0012?code=ABCD-2345

The page says one of:

ResultMeaning
The code presented matchesThe paper is the one the exchange issued
The code does not matchThe paper may not be the exchange's. Do not rely on it; contact the exchange
No code was presentedThe page shows the document, but has not checked your paper

The exchange keeps only a fingerprint of each code, and shows it once at issue, so nobody at the exchange can look a code up for you.

What a receipt shows

The goods delivered, the warehouse's confirmation, who delivered them, the value, and as the exchange holds it today: whether it has been paid against early, and a live check that the lot still holds the goods. A voided receipt says Void with the reason.

What an invoice shows

The lines, VAT, total, what has been paid against it and what is outstanding, how to pay, and its KRA eTIMS details once signed.
